I much prefer to talk about intentions for the new year, rather than resolutions! The word 'intention' to me has a much deeper, internal, more feminine energy than 'resolution', which sounds so external and hard! The best time for writing intentions for the new year is arguably with the first new moon of the year - as this energy always supports us to the sow the seeds of what we want to reap in the future. I recommend a 3 list approach to writing your intentions for the new year, I discuss this approach in this video and also the full Blog, which was published by Sivana East. I also suggest taking a very holistic approach of looking at your life with regards to what intentions you want to set. To make this easier you might like to consider the Evenstar 5 Star Wellbeing aspects of Food, Movement, Sleep, Surroundings and Being. Our first Yin Yoga, Meditation and Reiki Circle of 2019 will give you the opportunity to truly release what is no longer serving you, providing the space to bring in what you want to bring in for the year. May 2019 bring you Peace & Freedom, Love & Happiness and Health & Wellbeing!
This time of year, especially in Australia where we tend to run things on the calendar year, we really feel like everything is coming to an end and hopefully most of us also feel like we have the chance of fresh new beginnings with the upcoming new year. Summer feels like it starts in January and any hot weather at the end of the previous year is just warming us up! Many people go like crazy to get everything done ‘before Christmas’ because we really have this sense of an ending. Summer Solstice This weekend we have the Summer Solstice on Saturday and the Full Moon on Sunday (its exact time of fullness is early in the morning on Sunday so you could think of it as Saturday night). And then it’s Christmas Day on Tuesday. So, we are really being supported by the universe in this sense of things coming to a close over the next week. This gives you a great opportunity to work out exactly what it is that you want to let go of from 2018 and plan what exactly it is that you want to bring into your life in 2019. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year – the day that we have the most hours of daylight – and spiritually is a day to really step outside of yourself. Express yourself in the external world, even
This month’s Full Moon is on Friday 23rdNovember at 5.07pm, in Melbourne. Its energy is always felt for a few days either side. The full moon this month lands in the sign of Gemini – the dualistic twins. This is a very energising sign – the whole ‘2 is better than 1’ phenomenon! The Gemini moon also occurs in the Sagittarius sun sign period. Gemini is an air sign and Sagittarius is a fire sign, and we all know what happens when you give air to a fire – fierce burning, perhaps a lot of smoke, and then potentially a rapid burnout! As always we want to strive for balance and resist letting our own energies becoming too overactive with this universal energy. Gemini all about extremes rather than balance so beware! Prelude to the December Full Moon The Full Moon in December will also still remain in Gemini but the sun sign will have just flipped over to Capricorn so the energy will be somewhat different. However, you will have the opportunity with the November full moon to uncover a truth – and I’m about to talk all about communication here! – and for the December full moon to really bring that truth home to roost. Communication, Communication, Communication Gemini is very communication focused but as we have just had Mercury (planet of communication) go into retrograde this could
October's Full Moon (on the Thursday 25th in Australia) is in the sign of Taurus which gives it a bit of a different flavour to the general full moon energy that supports us to finish, close off and let go of things that no longer serve us. Taurus likes to hold on and not to look too deep! Find out what to do about this so that you can clear the decks for the next four weeks, for change and growth to occur in any area of your life. If you'd prefer to read my article on the topic, it was published by Sivana East. I offer Meditation & Healing Circles at each of my locations every month to help you get in touch with all energetic levels of your body - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - and access what you need to let go of. These are small group events to promote healing and relaxation through meditation and energy balance.
In September, we are so lucky today to be able to celebrate both the Spring Equinox, which occurs on Saturday 22nd, and the September full moon, which occurs on Monday 24th, and sits in the sign of Aries. Spring Equinox We have two points in the year where the length of the day and the night are equal – one in autumn and one in spring. This is because at these points Mother Earth lies flat in her orbit of the sun, so neither the north, nor the south pole are tilted away from the sun, allowing access to equal amounts of life giving solar energy everywhere on our planet. From this point forward, here in the southern hemisphere, we gradually get more and more daylight until summer solstice, in the second half of December. From an energetic point of view, this position in the astrological calendar is a very important celebration of the return of the force of life itself, after the cold, dark, dormant winter period. It is at this point that light overpowers dark – which is a forceful archetypal concept in most cultures, and definitely in ours. We need light to survive! Spring brings with it is the opportunity for new beginnings. New Beginnings This year we have also had heavy astrological energy over winter with 3 eclipses and multiple retrogrades – meaning that planets and
