Creation Energy is the second type of energy that I work with (there are 7 in total). To find out more about the first energy type – Foundation Energy – check out the Blog here. Creation Energy is the one that underlies everything in our emotional lives: partnerships and close relationships with other beings fully engaging with the whole range of emotions in the human experience the expression of our creativity. This energy is the one that pertains to the continuation of humanity through our innate ability to create new life and is sometimes called our ‘sexual’ energy. It fully develops in the second decade of life, during which we become sexual beings, after going through puberty. Letting the full range of human emotion flow through our lives is not something that is valued, encouraged or celebrated in western society and so this energy is one that many people are somewhat lacking in. The equivalent vibration to Creation Energy in colour is Orange and the equivalent elemental substance is water, and thus this energy is strongly connected to the moon and lunar cycles. You may need more Creation Energy if you feel: That you don’t have the right relationships in your life: close, nourishing relationships are missing or mimicked by relationships that are in fact toxic and take your energy. One of the 5 aspects of Evenstar 5 Star Wellbeing is Movement. I prefer the word ‘movement’ to the word ‘exercise’ for numerous reasons, not least of all because the word ‘exercise’ seems to polarise people into 2 groups - Those who love it and can’t live without it, and Those who hate it and see it one of life’s many evils that they try to ignore as much as possible. Also the fact is that the human body is designed to move. It’s not necessarily designed to do 5 HIIT classes a week but it’s definitely not designed to sit at a desk 8 hours a day and sit in a car or on a train for 1 hour either side of that. One of the many problems with the modern western lifestyle is that it involves very little movement and as a result the population is becoming more and more unhealthy, with lifestyle factors a major contributor to increasing chronic disease levels. As I write this, we are in the midst (well really just the beginning according to the experts) of the COVID-19 Pandemic and this is having a huge impact on human movement. So many of you have told me that you’d just like to get your energy and balance back and that was before we were hit with a global pandemic! Writing this in March 2020 it was very easy to choose to bring a focus to the first type of energy – and one that many people do need to replenish anyway – Foundation Energy. This energy forms the basis of everything in physical life: the body safety and security sense of belonging. It relates to our fundamental need and ability to survive and forms the basis on which all other aspects of our life – creativity, emotions, power, self worth, love, truth, insight and connection - develop. As such, it is the Foundation Energy to which we need to pay attention in matters of immunity. Even if you have a beautifully balanced and intact Foundation – be extremely grateful because you are in the minority – at this time in human existence when we face a pandemic that in big ways or small, will affect us all. Your gut microbiome is super important to overall health and is the first topic in this new video series called "One Thing I Know". Your gastrointestinal microbiota ("gut microbiome') consists of trillions of bacteria that reside in the digestive tract. They are imperative for effective digestive function and also for immunity. At any point your gut microbiome are either increasing or decreasing overall inflammation in your your body. Inflammation is the natural response of the body to fight infection and disease but when it becomes disregulated chronic illness can result. The third week in multi-coloured March – filled with weather of all varieties (here in Victoria at least!), the last of the summer fruits and the first of the winter ones – brings us a super special time to celebrate both the Full Moon (in Libra this month) and the Autumn Equinox. Their energies are very complementary supporting release and balance. Bring the Yin back in Autumn is the time of year where we can take the hint from the leaves on the trees and really start to let go of the things that have become hard and dry and no longer nourish us. The leaves that were green – the beating heart of the tree, allowing the plant to feed itself – are changing. Their colours are turning orange and red and reminding us that we need to begin to ground again, to return to the energies of our sacral and root chakras, to reconnect with the earth – to slow and turn inwards again, accessing our own Yin energy once more after the firey heat and outward focussed Yang energy of summer. Traditionally Autumn is a time to harvest and celebrate the glorious gifts we are receiving but at this time we also need to acknowledge that the soil, the earth that provides our food, now needs to rest. This time of year, especially in Australia where we tend to run things on the calendar year, we really feel like everything is coming to an end and hopefully most of us also feel like we have the chance of fresh new beginnings with the upcoming new year. Summer feels like it starts in January and any hot weather at the end of the previous year is just warming us up! Summer Solstice This weekend we have the Summer Solstice on Saturday and the Full Moon on Sunday (its exact time of fullness is early in the morning on Sunday so you could think of it as Saturday night). And then it’s Christmas Day on Tuesday. So, we are really being supported by the universe in this sense of things coming to a close over the next week. These energy centres operate on all levels – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Different systems call the energy centres different names, but almost all traditional systems of medicine recognise these energy centres as well as other minor energy centres, and energy pathways. In my practice I refer to the energy centres as the Chakras – which comes from the Indian tradition. Many energy healers work with the Chakras. Chakras are areas where the body is very open to receiving energy, from all sources. When it becomes imbalanced the flow of energy into the chakra is depleted or even prevented.
