Libra Season

We are now halfway through the astrological year (which began back in April with Aries Season).  We have done all the hard work of perfecting things during Virgo Season and now we’re ready for the peace, harmony and romance of Libra Season. Sounds lovely doesn’t it! Please do be aware that I work with the sidereal zodiac, which considers astrology from the actual placement of the stars in the current time. You can check this out for a quick 101 on Sidereal Astrology. Sidereal Libra - November 5th to November 24th The Sun actually rises in the constellation of Libra from 5th November through to 24th November – so we don’t get much time in this balanced season! Libra is a small constellation and so its season runs for less than 3 weeks. And, yes if you read up about sidereal astrology, these dates are not set in stone, over almost three quarters of a century the dates will change by one day, in accordance with precession. This is a big change from Tropical Western astrology dates for Libra (23rd September – 23rd October), there is no overlap at all, and this can result in a bit of an identity crisis!  If you feel strongly attached to your Libra personality it is probably because it is still a strong energy in your astrological chart, even if your sun does not

Balanced Relationships with the Double Libra Full Moon

The April 2019 full moon is known as a Double Full Moon because it is the second month in a row that she appears in the sign of Libra.  We all know Libra as the sign of balance, and this moon is certainly providing us with the energy to work towards this with a special focus on our relationships.  The power of the double full moon brings things that were hidden to the surface. Energetic balance in relationships When considering the relationships in our lifes it can be useful to think about which people and relationships give us energy and which drain our energy.  This is critical if we are to have energetic balance.  If we feel that we are constantly giving too much of our energy to other people, or they are draining it from us with their physical, emotional or spiritual demands it is impossible to remain balanced. The energy of the full moon allows provides support for finishing, closing off and letting go what has been happening over the last month.  With a double full moon this is especially powerful.  The space between the two Libra full moons provided an opportunity for us to really create the beginnings of whatever we wanted to bring into our lives – I hope you used this energy wisely? But this strong energetic portal of manifestation is now closing with the

Autumn Equinox – release, integrate and manifest

The third week in multi-coloured March – filled with weather of all varieties (here in Victoria at least!), the last of the summer fruits and the first of the winter ones – brings us a super special time to celebrate both the Full Moon (in Libra this month) and the Autumn Equinox.  Their energies are very complementary supporting release and balance. Bring the Yin back in Autumn is the time of year where we can take the hint from the leaves on the trees and really start to let go of the things that have become hard and dry and no longer nourish us.  The leaves that were green – the beating heart of the tree, allowing the plant to feed itself – are changing. Their colours are turning orange and red and reminding us that we need to begin to ground again, to return to the energies of our sacral and root chakras, to reconnect with the earth – to slow and turn inwards again, accessing our own Yin energy once more after the firey heat and outward focussed Yang energy of summer. Traditionally Autumn is a time to harvest and celebrate the glorious gifts we are receiving but at this time we also need to acknowledge that the soil, the earth that provides our food, now needs to rest. The warmth of summer is gently nestling behind us and
